Which training courses would you like to have access to as a teacher? Why? Which is, in your opinion, the best way to share good practice amongst teaching professionals? Why?

There are many courses for teachers but we must prioritize the topics that we need. For this reason, we are going to talk about languages, special needs and ICT. They are fundamental to be a teacher. Firstly, our education system is changing and it is adding new methodologies to learn languages. A teacher has to create activities and materials to teach properly, for this reason, the training courses are the key to develop the communicative skills in class. For example, in this course we have learned that we must pay attention to many aspects like the emotional environment, the types of language, the type of materials, the gestural language, etc. Secondly, we can find students with special needs.  In this situation, teachers have to prepare many types of material because children could have hearing, visual, social, motor and psychic problems. If you were not limited by the demands of the national/regional curriculum, what would you say is the most important thing you would teach your students about your subject (in a CLIL context)? How would you assess their learning?

The Valencian curriculum is our reference to teach in this Community. In this document, we can find the curricular elements for Primary Education classified by courses, so we have to work following this. Probably, many teachers think that this selection is not good and they would work other aspects of the subjects in their CLIL units. Firstly, we would add contents related to the units of measurement used in other countries. Our curriculum says that students must measure using the meter (including multiples and submultiples). It would be interesting to use units like feet, miles and inches. They are used in the United States and the United Kingdom, the main countries where students travel to learn English. For this reason, we think it is essential to teach this type of units of measurement in CLIL units. If we were the minister of Education, we would include these units. Taking into account my personal teaching context, what would be the advantages and disadvantages of using the ELP with my groups?

Many people talk about the European Language Portfolio and it is a document to record the language learning and cultural experiences. For Primary students, we can find some advantages and disadvantages. We are going to analyze the skills and problems related to this tool. On the one hand, the ELP has got many advantages for this type of students because they can develop their language and intercultural skills. They are very important for the future of our students because the learners could travel to other countries to study or work. In addition, we live in a globalized world and we have to share our lives with other cultures, for this reason, the new generations need to develop the tolerance and respect to live in peace.
